Teamsters Local Union No. 31 is a proud, member-driven labour union. Since 1936 they have organized workers, negotiated strong collective agreements, enforced workplace rights, handled grievances, and defended members before employers, arbitrators, labour boards, and the Supreme Court of BC and Canada.

It was a real pleasure being asked to design and build their new web site! I designed this project myself and with the help of AI, I was also able to provide all of the copy writing (made possible by detail answers to my questionnaire combined with old web copy). I also had a lot of fun building a few custom features: 1) a custom “Marquee” element that takes a list of company names and scrolls them across 4 lines going left and right. There is even the functionality to add a Catch Phrase which gets inserted randomly here and there; 2) Secondly, with the help of AI I was able to build a very complex Union Sign Up form complete with email tracking, a legal audit trail, and e-commerce! For me, what made this project so great, was the freedom (AKA budget) to build out so many unique page designs. Almost every page in this site is built slightly different but still using common theme elements. This is probably the nicest web site I have built in many years!
